Are you looking for an easy barbecue recipe for one of the many picnics or potlucks you’re attending this weekend? Not to fear, I’ve got you covered with what might be one of the easiest recipes.

I have wanted a backyard smoker for years because smoked turkey, chicken, and other meats often taste great right out of the smoker. I also thought, mistakenly as it turns out, that you need a smoker in order to make awesome ribs. Well friends, I was wrong.

I first made these barbecue ribs over the Fourth of July weekend and since I’m not a big fan of ribs myself, I really made them for my husband. I told you a while ago that he is obsessed with barbecue. He eats it multiple times a week and loves a good rack of ribs. When he asked me to make ribs, I did my research and figured out that the slow cooker might be the best method. The rib fanatic loved them, and I loved them too.

In order to fit the rack of ribs into my slow cooker, I have to cut a full rack in half. Depending on the size of your slow cooker, you will likely need to do the same.

Combine the spices in a small bowl and then rub the ribs with the spices. Make sure you add to both the back and front.

Place the ribs in the slow cooker. Dump any remaining spices into the slow cooker as well. Add a cup of the barbecue sauce.

Turn the slow cooker on LOW and cook for 6 hours.

Once the ribs are cooked, remove them carefully since the meat may fall off the bones. Add the ribs to a foil lined cookie sheet and brush with additional cup of sauce.

Broil the ribs for 6-10 minutes just before serving.

I’m seriously drooling all over my computer, Bri…these ribs look amazing! I’ve always wanted to try slow cooker ribs because it’s one of my favorite meals, but never knew if it would come out just as good as on the grill or in the oven. Well, you’ve proven me wrong today! I definitely have to try this out now! Love how easy this is!

Ok, I know it sounds insane, but I have never had ribs before! My husband majorly loves them and my mother makes them for him (I know, how embarrassing) but I’d love to think I could make these myself in a slow cooker in only 6 hours. So many slow cooker recipes require 12 hours, time I just don’t have. Eager to try!!

My goodness these look delicious. I tried to make ribs for the first time this summer on the BBQ, but they weren’t fall of the bone yummy like these ones. Gotta try the slow cooker version!

Love this! I am kind of obsessed with my slow cooker. I love that you can just come home to an already cooked meal! It is amazing! I am swooning over these ribs. My husband just asked for ribs but it is too darn hot to be standing outside next to the grill! This is the perfect solution!

Made these tonight on a beautiful fall night. They are the best ribs I have ever tasted and my husband said the same. Outstanding. I will be making again…and they couldn’t be easier. We found a great low carb sauce with a great vinegar taste. Thank you!
