The Chili Cheese combo isn’t just for hot dogs, y’all.

I hope you had a great weekend! It was beautiful here in Maryland. We got our first taste of fall weather and it was so nice to be outside. While it was a little brisk on Sunday, Saturday was absolutely gorgeous with sunny skies and temperatures in the mid-70’s. This is definitely my favorite time of year.

What did you do this weekend?

A few weeks ago I told you guys about my love of soup season. One of my favorites is chili…there are never enough chili recipes for me. You’ve got the white chilis, the hearty meaty chilis, vegetarian chilis, and the list goes on and on.

We made our first batch of chili a few weeks ago and that’s when it hit me. The idea struck me while I was out on a run. I live to eat people…seriously!

While leftover chili is great on it’s own, I realized it would also be spectacular on top of pizza. And a new idea was born. Chili Cheese Pizza. And omg you guys…

This recipe is seriously so easy to pull off and it’s perfect when you have a little chili leftover. This recipe allows you to stretch that small amount of chili to feed the whole family.

This pizza meets football food is pure bliss. I promise!

Preheat the oven to 500 degrees.  While the oven preheats, allow the premade pizza dough (or homemade if you’d prefer) to rest at room temperature.

Once the oven is hot, add the olive oil to the cookie sheet and spread the dough into a circle or a square. Flip the dough and rub the excess oil on top.

Spoon the chili onto the dough. (I used this one with different beans, but any tomato based meat and bean chili will work)

Using a grater, grate the cheddar cheese and sprinkle it over the chili.

Slice a jalapeno and spread the pieces around the pizza (if desired).  Bake for 15-20 minutes or until bubbly and golden.

Top with sour cream, green onions, and cilantro for the perfect weeknight dinner or gameday meal.

To drizzle the sour cream, I simply spoon some sour cream into a small Ziploc bag and then trim a corner off with scissors. Start small and you can always make the hole bigger if necessary.

That’s it. This crowd pleasing pizza is the perfect comfort food for your next gameday.
