Happy November! This is a recap of food, fun, and photos (how’s that for alliteration) from October.

Ohmygosh! That foliage! Good thing you probably haven’t seen any photos of fall foliage on instagram or facebook. But seriously, this was my view on my long runs through October. It was so breathtaking. Sadly, I think we only have a few leaves left to fall now.

I dragged us to the mall on a Friday evening to do some errands after work. The husband pretty much declared that he was dying from the minute he stepped foot in the mall. Once we located this new candy store though…he was pacified!

They had so many flavors of gummy bears (his fave) and Swedish fish (another fave). Seriously…watermelon gummies, green apple, mango! The options were unlimited and even though I’m not normally a fan, I have to admit, they tasted pretty good.

This is the first year I noticed the addition of super cool pumpkins to the standard orange kind :) Maybe they’ve been around a while, they’re new to me and I LOVE them! The white ones are so cool!

We did a little DIY project in October, which if you know us, you know this is rare! The limited scope of this DIY project made it totally feasible for us non-DIYers. We bought the fillable lamps for our nightstands at HomeGoods and then sourced some oyster shells to fill the vases. We did scrub and clean them thoroughly, don’t worry! Even this DIY project almost went awry when the oyster shucker (Ben) stabbed his hand. Awww shucks.

Sunday football snacks made their first appearance in October. These are hardly homemade, but they’re Ben’s fave so he usually throws them together at halftime.

We experienced our first Winter-like weather last weekend. I’m not sure I’m ready for it!

Sadly, the Farmer’s Market only has a few more weeks left. They’re calling it quits before Thanksgiving and then we’ll have to source veggies elsewhere.

That’s it for October! As you already know, November will be full of Thanksgiving and holiday themed recipes. Thanks for stopping by and checking out Bites of October.

Kristine, I hope yours was too! Farmer’s Market is my favorite part of spring…when it opens back up I know good weather is coming!

What beautiful photos!! I bought fillable lamps too and when I brought them home my husband asked if he could put dirt and shot gun shells in them! haha! Needless to say they are still empty! 😉

That’s hilarious. The fallback in our house was wine corks but that didn’t seem to be as good of a fit for a bedroom.

I think October is my favorite month. All the best parts of fall before all the craziness of the holidays. I love your lamp DIY project! You must have had quite the oyster feast to get all those shells. I am going to have to keep my eye out for that lamp at my HomeGoods! I want to try something similar!

October is definitely my favorite by far. Haha, we did eat lots of oysters but we also got some in the neighborhood at a donation spot 😉 I got these lamps a year ago but I’ve seen them again at HG recently.
