A sidecar is a classic cocktail typically made cognac, orange liqueur, and lemon juice. So I thought, why not add some cranberry and make this drink really fun!?

I used this cranberry sauce for the recipe, but most cranberry sauces will work. And, if you’re making this any other time of year, a splash of cranberry juice will work just fine too!

Start by juicing the lemon into the shaker. Add equal parts of the orange liqueur and cognac. You can use Grand Mariner, Triple-Sec, or Cointreau for the orange liqueur. Note: most lemons contain 1-1.5 ounces of juice so if the lemon seems really juicy, just add 1.5 oz of both the liqueur and the cognac.
Shake with ice, then add the tablespoon of cranberry sauce and shake until combined.

Rub the outer rim of the glass with a lemon and then dip the glass in sugar. Strain the cocktail and pour the cocktail over a large ice cube or serve it up.

That’s it! Can you believe how easy it is to make such a festive fun cocktail perfect for Thanksgiving, friendsgiving, or any time of year? These fun cocktails are strong so just be careful how many you give to Aunt Mary…if you know what I mean. No one wants to spend Thanksgiving under the table.

These Cranberry Sidecar Cocktails are crisp, refreshing, and full of fun holiday cheer!

As a side note, I’ll be taking the rest of this week to relax and enjoy time with family. I wish you a Happy Thanksgiving!
